Bjarke Ingels – "Unpacking my library"

“Unsurprisingly, the books that inspire Bjarke Ingels are as unorthodox as his own career, spanning the gap between science fiction, comics and Nietzsche” – Domus

At fĂĽ indblik i ‘kildens oprindelse’ kan i det lange løb ofte vĂŚre bedre end at de glimtende resultater. De holder simpelthen meget lĂŚngere. I 2009 udkom bogen “Unpacking My Library: Architects and Their Books” – [i mit tidligere indlĂŚg har jeg oversat hele kapitlet med Stan Allens top ti bøger]. Siden jeg købte den i New York, har det faktisk undret mig, at DAC’s boghandel aldrig har lavet en lignende udstilling [Sandheden er mĂĽske at de mest sĂŚlger til turister der alligevel ikke kender arkitekten?].

Heldigvis har DOMUS netop vredet Bjarke for hans vigtigste litteratur i, “Bjarke Ingels – unpacking my library.” Og personligt kan jeg genkende mange af bøgerne, og der er enkelte man godt kunne ønske sig til jul.

1. Frank Miller, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (se Google.dk)
2. William Gibson, Neuromancer (dansk, ‘Neuromatiker’. US version)
3. Manuel De Landa, A Thousand Years of Nonlinear History (dk link)
4. Friedrich Nietzsche, On the Genealogy of Morality (dansk, ‘Moralens Oprindelse’)
5. David Lynch, Twin Peaks: An Access Guide to the Town (se Google)
6. Charlie Kaufmann, Adaptation. The Shooting Script (dk link – film, ‘Orkide-tyven’)
7. Charles Darwin, From So Simple a Beginning: The Four Great Books of Charles Darwin (dk links)

Artiklen viser yderligere billeder af bøger som ikke [?] er med pü listen:

“In Adaptation, when all’s said and done, it is as if he really wanted only to make a film about flowers, even though the outcome for the spectator is much more complex and stratified. Respect for set forms is a value in design too. I am convinced that it is a grave error, for those in my profession, to think they can afford to toss amorphous [formløse] objects into the world. ” – Bjarke Ingels
